May 2026 - For our 21st and final STEAM project, we built paper rockets and launched them using an air-powered launcher that was built using PVC pipes and a sprinkler head.
Students built their paper rockets rolled with pipes. They are encouraged to use different fin types to build aerodynamic rockets. Finally, they personalized their rockets with cool names. The results were incredible as the rockets flew over 200 ft. in the air. However, there were rockets that disintegrated in mid-flight or lost their nose cones because they weren't built well. After a class competition, Olivia S. was the winner of our rocket challenge by beating everyone else's rocket, even Mr. Pham's. It was a lot of fun building and launching rockets.
